Rae-Ann and David

Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you very much for reading our profile. Although we have not met you, we know that you are a person of tremendous courage and love. We realize you are making difficult decisions and we wish for you peace and comfort in this process. We hope that this profile will give you a sense of who we are. We have a lot to give and hope you may consider our family for your precious child.
Our names are Rae-Ann and David. We live in New England in a small coastal town. We share our home with David’s 13 year old daughter Charlotte and our dog Ursa. Charlotte lives with us every other week; Ursa lives with us full time. We all love kids and can’t wait to welcome a child into our family.
About Rae-Ann
I grew up most of my life in a small coastal town with my parents, Don and Maryrae, and my younger brother, David. We lived on a small farm where we raised animals and had multiple gardens. Helping out around the house was essential and expected; while I was not always thrilled to weed or change the chicken’s water, I am incredibly thankful to have had these experiences in my childhood. They taught me a lot about myself, and helped to prepare me for life after leaving the security of home.
School was always very important to me and my family; this is partially why I decided to become to a teacher. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then went on to get my Master’s Degree in Education.
I have spent many years teaching all levels of students in all different subject areas. Within the last few years I have been focusing my professional energy on teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) students and doing private tutoring out of our home. I find working with children very rewarding personally and professionally. Recently I traveled to France where I had the good fortune to teach students there.

Within the last few years David and I have owned and operated a tour boat business. I am the naturalist and historian on the boat; I teach passengers about all of the wonderful things our area has to offer.
I am an avid outdoorsperson; lately when I'm not in my home tutoring children you can find me outdoors in nature or inside cooking, reading , knitting or sewing.
When we have a new baby, I plan to stay home to care for the baby for a few years and continue tutoring in our home as much as my schedule allows. We are commited to giving a child the best start possible.
About David
I am the second-oldest in a family of four brothers and one sister; my siblings were my best friends growing up, and remain so today. I am fortunate in that my mother, father, and youngest brother still live nearby and visit often. I grew up spending summers near the ocean, which ultimately led me to pursue a maritime education and later a career as a seafarer.
I enjoy everything to do with the water, and the outdoors in general.
While I work hard at my job and around our home, my most important priority is being Charlotte’s father. When I was divorced, I fought to ensure that Charlotte would be with me equally as much as with her mother, and I have gone to extraordinary measures to live up to that goal. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to share with Charlotte my appreciation for my family, my faith, and the wonderful life that we have been given. I still have the ambition and ability to share that enthusiasm for life with another child, and now I have the benefit of having Rae-Ann as a partner in that commitment.
About Charlotte
Charlotte is David’s 13 year old daughter from his previous marriage. Despite the divorce, we are blessed to have her with us half of the time. She is an absolute priority in our lives and we are all excited about the idea of growing our already close knit family. Charlotte is quite the busy teenager! Her interests lie in learning different languages, such as French and Japanese. She also enjoys inventing characters and then writing some great, creative stories about them. Charlotte also loves to play the piano, draw, sew, read and ski. She will be a great older sister and role model.
